| Located in Houston's developing "Midtown", this church sought to update its facilities and present a more welcoming and identifiable "Front Door". The new welcome center forms a transition in style between the beautiful, richly detailed Romanesque sanctuary and the sparse, flat roofed education buildings. A new glass walkway above the existing cloister connects existing second floor education buildings to the sanctuary, also located on the second level. Renovation of existing buildings has created a more light-filled, appealing environment. . A new second floor "concourse" level connects existing second floor education buildings to the sanctuary with a new glass walkway above the existing cloister. (Project of Hall/Merriman Architects.
