| This 24,000 S.F. restoration and rehabilitation converted an abandoned warehouse building into the Ballroom for George Mitchell's Tremont Hotel. The scope included the repair and rehabilitation of the building façade. To accommodate the second floor ballroom the roof was restructured to eliminate twelve second floor columns. A new grand stair provides a dramatic entrance for the ballroom. Merriman Holt Architects coordinated all work with the Texas Historical Commission and the Galveston Historical Society. |
