Johnson General Hospital is a 329 licensed bed acute care hospital offering a full range of medical services to the residents of northeast Harris County. LBJ hospital carries the distinction of being a regional center for neonatal intensive care for high-risk deliveries. Bill Merriman, as a member of the A/E joint venture team, led the design of the building’s exterior and the adjacent Harris County Hospital District’s Service Center. Since the completion of the Hospital and Service Center, Merriman Holt Architects has completed the following projects within the Hospital: -LBJ Pediatric Emergency Center -LBJ Pharmacy -LBJ Security Department Merriman Holt Architects also completed a new Entry Canopy for LBJ Hospital that provides a gracious area for patient drop-off and pick up and creates an easily identified “Front Door” to the hospital. The scope of work included a new vestibule that accommodates patients and staff who are waiting for pick-up.
