The 752,000sf, 550 bed Acute Care Hospital was constructed to replace an existing hospital that no longer met licensing or builidng code requirements. The project required complex coordination with other institutions within the Medical Center, with regulating agencies, and with the Harris County Hospital Dsitrict.
During the design of this project the Harris County Hospital District developed a comprehensive design process that contines to be used for all Hospital District projects.
